Invitation to Virtual Brooklyn Queens Catholic Youth Day (BQCYD), Saturday, November 21, 2020

The Diocese of Brooklyn and Queens will be organizing its virtual Fall BQCYD on Saturday, November 21, 2020 at 1pm. Youth from all parishes within the diocese will be attending and we want our youth to also participate. Parents and Guardians who want their youthful children to attend can contact the youth minister via email at stfstbyouthministry@gmail.com. The Diocese is asking our youth to submit two videos!

1. Introduction video: the teen and/or YM should say three things with a 3-5 second gap in between each phrase. We attached a video for an example.
“I am a child/son/daughter of God”
“We are the church”
“We are the body of Christ”
2. A 30 second- 1 minute (max) video where the teen displays a talent/gift (Example: reciting poetry, dance, art, etc.)
A consent form is attached to this email for the parents of any youth who wishes to send a video. Once completed, kindly email them to me.

St. Francis of Assisi-St. Blaise Youth Participate in Virtual Summer Youth Empowerment and Endurance Program

During the summer, our youth joined youth from other neighboring parishes to participate in an online empowerment program that drew speakers from the United States, Ghana and Trinidad. The theme for the program was : "I can do all things through Christ Jesus who gives me strength", Philippians 4:13. The goal of the  program which was organized by St. Therese of Lisieux Youth Ministry in Brooklyn was to equip young people with the "tools" they needed to face the multifaceted adversity of their time. Youth from our parish included Nefetari, Shyaam, Aaliyah, Roseney, Ashley, Davon, Gordon, Sarah, Denise and Alberta. To read more about this event please follow the link below:
